{"id":3969,"date":"2015-06-15T10:28:36","date_gmt":"2015-06-15T10:28:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hw54cbnnbb.preview.infomaniak.website\/publication\/elderly-women-living-alone-update-their-living-conditions\/"},"modified":"2015-06-15T10:28:36","modified_gmt":"2015-06-15T10:28:36","slug":"elderly-women-living-alone-update-their-living-conditions","status":"publish","type":"publication","link":"https:\/\/diversite-europe.eu\/en\/publication\/elderly-women-living-alone-update-their-living-conditions\/","title":{"rendered":"Elderly women living alone: an update of their living conditions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Women represent the majority of the people living alone<\/strong> as their life expectancy is longer than the one of men.&nbsp;This situation is a challenge for Europe&nbsp;as it questions&nbsp;the sustainability of retirement pensions and the tools to provide support for these people.&nbsp;The<strong> European Parliament <\/strong>published a report in order to evaluate the cost of the phenomenon and to propose <strong>reflections <\/strong>on the problems&nbsp;led by&nbsp;<strong>ageing women.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The report shows that<strong> inequality of pay during the carrier has&nbsp;direct consequences&nbsp;on women&#8217;s pensions <\/strong>when they retire. In this way, ageing women are <strong>more exposed to precarity<\/strong>. The European Parliament recommands to the member states to <strong>regulate gender inequalities <\/strong>regarding the payment of pensions.
